does anyone know of any place in CT where i, as an underaged person without parental permission, could get a tattoo done? lol i know this seems like a really bad question to be asking, but i really want a tattoo, and i know some 13 year old girl who got a cherry on her stomach, and im just like.. damn.. im going to be way more responsible than that, so why can't i get one? so now im digressing, i just want to know if anyone knows a CLEAN place where i can get a tat done, because i know a place, but a grip of his costomers end up with hepititus but if i can't find another place, ill take my chances there... |

| well for starters even if i couldn't find a place i wouldn't get it done where there have been known cases of hepatitis. |

I think the more responsible thing is maybe to wait a bit until your of legal age ? |

you will never get rid of hepatitus once you have it, it will be monitored for the rest of your life, so be responsible and wait until the propper time...
its only another few years and you will 18, so get looking for your ideal tattoo, and in a years time, you probably wont even like it...
be patient...good things come to those that wait....
design your own and add on when the need takes you. |

| Do the responsible thing and just wait until your of age or can talk your parents into it. Definately don't go to a place where there have been known cases of hepatitis because chances are that if you can get hepatitis you can easily get many more infections and diseases there as well. Also in addition to all the health problems that you would have you would probably also lose your parents trust, respect, etc. all just so you could have a tattoo a few years ahead of time. In retrospect it's not really worth it at all. So just wait and try and get your parents to be okay with the idea. My parents were the same way they wanted me to wait until I was of age to go alone. At 16 they said they would sign off on me getting one but still the pieces I once liked I didn't really like anymore. Jump forward 3 years I have a few pieces in mind but STILL am not entirely sure. |

When I was thirteen, I wanted an anarchy symbol on my wrist. When I was 18 I wanted angel wings on my back.
Please, as a girl who has been there and 25 years old I finally have what I really want (a koi and lotus blossom on my back) WAIT.
I know it sounds as crazy to you as the question you are asking, but you are not going to be the same person at my age that you are at your age. It isn't out of lack of character or that you aren't responsible, but out of the simple fact that when you grow up and the things you like (even simple cute patterns) fade away, you'll still have that tattoo as a reminder and actually might be taking up room where you could've had a KILLER tattoo. I was going to put little angel wings on my back illegally at 17 and stopped myself. I wouldn't have been able to get the design that now means so much to me if I'd have done that.
Was I being immature? No and I don't think you are either. I just think that you are giving in too easily to your impatience and your desire to have something to make you stand out. I'm sure you want this tattoo, but if you really want it, then you can wait the time until you are legal. But trust me, I'm willing to bet that you probably will be glad you didn't do that.
P.S. Just about every girl I've ever known who has gotten some random tattoo underaged points to it as a stupid, immature, mistake. Don't do that to yourself. Wait until you can afford a clean, awesome artist who will give your fully developed mental self EXACTLY what you want. |

| I tattoo for a living and we turn away quite a few minors who come in. I know that it is a long time to wait to get it legally, but if you really want a tattoo and are serious about it...you will not go to some local scumbag who is willing to tattoo a young girl. You'll probably thank yourself later. |

you need to do some ground work first..
go into tattoo salons, and dont be afraid to ask questions...
look at their work, it will be on the walls for all to see,
if the booking is a month forward then you know everyone wants a tattoo by them,,so its a good bet they are good..
do some drawings yourself..
look on google..
and dont go toooooo big for the first one..
nice call not doing it underage..
you will only live to regret it...
and have to pay for a cover up.. |

Don't expect a tattoo artist to jeopardize their license or business for anyone. The legal age is 18 in the states and it is 16 in Canada. A professional artist survives on that business and won't take any chances.
I believe that if a 16 yr old is old enough to handle driving a car and working, they are old enough to get a tattoo, but i don't make the laws, so without your parents consent, it's out of your hands. Time flies.... soon enough, you will be 18 and able to get anything you can pay for.
DO NOT LET JUST ANYONE WHO IS WILLING, DO IT WITH OUT YOUR PARENTS PERMISSION! That is scary, meaning they are shiesty and willing to take chances, which means they will take a chance on your health too. This may end up landing you 6 ft under all for a design that you can always get later.
A Lawyer once told me that if a minor gets a tattoo with even the parents permission, and later decides that they really didn't want that tattoo, not only can they come back on the artist, but on their very own parents. This is why legal forms are given, but still..... it's best to just wait. |
