| Hi, i'm new here and i have a question about the ink of my tattoo. I have been using the same artist for about 6 months and my family uses him as well, hes very clean, and does awesome work, but my husband has all tribal tats that are just black and its been anout 2 months and they look kinda dark green, and i havent got a chance to talk to my artist, hes been out of town, but i was wondering if this could be the ink he uses or something else. I have a blck tat and it hasn't changed colors at all, nor has any of my family, just my husbands,so we are alittle worried cuz hes getting his whole back done soon and we want it black not green. Any suggestions? Thanks |

Hi
I have never heard of black ink turning green. In my experience black ink never stays as dark as it when it is first applies but the loss is more the depth of colour rather than the actual colour itself.
Having said that different people will react and to and heal in different ways, it could be that your husbands skin doesnt hold ink well. As an example myself and a friend got tattooed by the same artist about 9 years ago my ink is still clear defined and strong my mates ink has blurred and lost some definition and depth, this is purely down to skin type.
The other factor that could play a part is the aftercare of your husbands tattoo, did he go swimming or sunbathe while the ink was new ? Either of these activities will ruin a tat in the first two weeks if not the first month.
Was the tat caught on something ? As you know if the scab lifts to soon the ink "bleeds" out.
Just some thoughts it may be worth chatting with the artist about this before he gets anymore work done and see what he reckons.
Hope that is some help

| Hi,every skin is different,so tattoos maded by one artist&one ink can has a bit different colours .Also if tattoo is too deep under skin, colour can look like dark green.I sew it few times. There is possibility, that your tattoo artist used a mixed ink,but I don't think so.Better ask him 'bout that. |
