Ok, so getting my 2nd. and I just want something simple but with meaning and I can't find the symbol.

I want something to represent childhood, blues music, sunny mornings and summer... Sounds like a load of bull... but it's the best way to explain..

I don't like the japanese signs. I like tribals but only if they represent someting (i.e. an animal) just shown abstract. No colors (black only)

I'm a lazy person and like to sit and think.

I saw a tattoo of simba from lion king and i loved it at first sight (childhood, sun(africa),sadness in a way) Also i'm a lion in horoscope and the cartoon reminds me of when I was still a kid...but i'm not sure if it's kinda "girly"Confused Cool

Advise if you have any ideas please i'd apprecciate it

I grew up with Simba and The Lion King, I was 8 in 1993 - I loved him more than anything at the time. I wished I could have him as a pet. I bought a mouse and called it Nala and Mum was furious and gave it back to the pet store. . .

Well I would suggest getting something that relates to your formative years, though Simba may be a bit girly, if he is small and in a more boyish pose then he could be good - unless you are a female (sorry i am dumb i don't take notice of names) then he would be really cute! He's so adorable. If you are a male then females will gush over it, and if you are a female females will still gush over it.

Yeah, so think of the music and stuff of your formative years and then think up a tatt. Like for the 60's it was flowers and peace symbols and stuff.

I'm a 90's kid, so I wouldn't know what to get. Hmmm, its hard, what do the 90's resemble to me - Leonardo DiCaprio, **** Spears etc. I don't know. . .

Oh I googled about 50000 pics Razz . i was looking for something what will catch my eye instantly and had little luck Sad

Yes I'm a male but I guess that doesn't mean I can't have a cute lil'o lion on my butt-cheek Wink joking ofcourse!. I meant to put it on my back on the right side

Back to simba- it's the symbol rafiki drew in the cave, i also saw someone's tat of it in the gallery here.

--> you're right about the 90's **** spears Embarassed i did it again and stuff. I however live in the 60's/70's though I'm also a 90's kid. My first tat is an image from one of janis joplin albums.ball and chain

well, i thought you were a male but I just had to make sure (sometimes I call people the wrong thing on forums). so lets see, yes that symbol Rafiki drew is something that would suit a male. I have no problem if a male wanted a Simba as if I saw you in the street or something my impression would be "oh that guy must be really sweet". I reckon girls who know you would think the same Smile

That is a fine idea. That symbol. Yes, you should get it done. Makes me want a Simba on me now!

I sort of wish the 90's were more substantial than they were, I would have liked to be born 10 years earlier though hehe. Maybe 70's or 60's - but maybe not during the War. We are lucky in some ways. Though I suppose with this terrorism stuff, maybe not so.

Well the question that comes to mind now is: Do I want girls to think i'm cute? Cool Sure I do, I'm not that kind of guy which would rather have a real lion's head with flames and rattle-snakes around it that a symol of a lion which acctualy means a lot to me.

However, I was thinking about having the symbol as it is but make some kind of background which would make it more "manly" Wink Sth like some thorns around it or crushed rocks for example-this would also make sense because i did some rock-climbing a few years ago and i love rocks (sound weird huh?: "I like rocks!" "me caveman, Me like rock!

I would like to have been born 10-20y before, I feel that people were much more relaxed back then and didn't worry about unnecessary things. But I was born during a war when my country was seeking liberation from yugoslavia (if you know about it), luckily I can't say i'm frightened by terrorism, although you never know these days people with master-plans to conquer all world still exist. Rolling Eyes I'm boooooring

Anyway, Simba rocks! Razz

sorry I didn't know about that war in Yugoslavia (well I would if I researched it). Here I am in Australia talking about stuff when we have always had it damn easy compared to in your country and other countries. Sorry for my naivety Embarassed As they say, we complain about nothing.

Well whatever you decide it will be good, you can just put a theme behind Simba to what you want. Its your body and what you want is what counts Smile

What's wrong with being cute? Rolling Eyes Everything in my life that I love is cute. My ferret. My dog. Leonardo DiCaprio (I'm a huge fan I know its weird) and my boyfriend. Well he isn't cute. He's just him. Nah just joking!
Seriously, okay it doesn't have to be cute but Simba IS cute so you will have to add a 'manly' background like you said.

But i think just the symbol would be fine. My opinion. Its simple and small and would look great. But its your body not mine. So you have to go with what you want.

So are you wanting to get it on your right shoulderblade/back? I just got one there. They look good there.

Yes i'd put it on my shoulder blade. Still not sure which one but probably the right.

Which brings up another question: Since the shoulder blade/back is an area with muscles and i stoped training a couple of years ago I don't have any muscles there that stand out, but soon I'll start training again (rowing) and some muscles will probably develop there again Very Happy , it might cause some distortion to the tat Confused Or maybe it won't???

Anyway the simba shouldn't look much different that way.

Back to the symbol... I might do the background thing or the symbol plain with only outlines. No shadows or background.. I'll draw it both ways and see. Maybe post some pics for you to give your vote Wink

And I understand what you mean that I should decide on my own what would be good but I guess this is the best place to ask people with experience and I'll ask my friends on the aesthetics part since a have a few friends which are artists...

I don't think it will distort it. Mine is just boney and no muscle (because i'm lazy and don't work out!!!) and i could feel the needles vibrating through my skin. Other than that its fine. The only reason a tatt would distort is if someone put on heaps of weight after having it done, which I'm sure wouldn't be relavent to you. But yeah if someone puts on a lot of weight then the tatt might go funny as you could imagine. Otherwise if you are just building muscle then it should just look good. Ask someone who has muscles and tatts. I suppose if you were really skinny and then got a tatt then got huge muscles it would distort it. But if you have normal arms that just need a little toning then it shouldn't change much. If you have previously been really fit I can't imagine it distorting as you may still have some muscle mass there.

If that makes sence. Just ask though.

I got my peace sign today, my sister and I both got wrist tattoos Laughing I don't even have any photos of any of mine as i don't like to take photos of myself when i could be taking photos of other people i know Confused So i have to get around to doing that!!! Now that i have a fair few (3 more in the last month!!!) then I better take photos! before people call me a liar!
