welcome....
First of all, i have a few tattoo's and I am not a criminal...
I have never been in trouble with any authorities...
Most people who think that people with tattoo's are criminals is the older citizens/ generation.
It wasn't heard of in their days, and the only way you got to see tattoo's on people is, when they came out of prison or were in gangs....
times change, people change..
My mother hated me getting my first tattoo, now at the ripe old age of 65 she got her little devil on her shoulder????...She is not a crim either...
As for work place and tattoo's, it is totally down to the employer...and ordipends on what sort of job it is...
I work as an Holistic Therapist and at no time, can anyone see my tattoo's, except my foot one, and not many people even notice it...or comment on it.. |

I agree with all of what Chic said - and like her I'm not a criminal and have never been.
I have no hard feelings about employers wanting to present a certain image or atmosphere in their places of business, so long as it's about personal choices an employee has made, for example, tattoos, blue hair, etc. Not the color of someone's skin or their gender or something else they cannot control.
Knowing that not everyone appreciates or understands tattoos and wanting to be able to work just about anywhere I could at the time (now I'm self-employed), I made sure that I kept my body art in places where they could be easily conceiled. All of my employers never knew I had tattoos until we met up at a social engagement and the subejct either came up or I was wearing something that exposed the art. |
